EY attended the clinic in 2014.
At that time she was 20-years-old and a gifted pianist who had injured herself when lifting the lid off the back of a grand piano. She rated her pain levels as a 7/10.
She always needed 10 hours sleep every night to feel refreshed.
She suffered headaches all the time and rated the pain at 7/10.
For years she had cold hands and feet.
She was taking Zoloft for the 2 years prior to treatment because of suffering from excessive anxiety. As a gifted pianist and composer, she would have liked to play piano though couldn’t due to anxiety and pain. She had not felt at peace for 12 years.
Among her many symptoms were also palpitations, sweating and a dry mouth.
One of her more significant symptoms was a hair-pulling habit – an obsessive-compulsive disorder known as trichotillomania. The repeated pulling of hair also caused her hands to hurt.
Her menstrual cycle was also an issue. It started at 9 years of age. She would have cramps for 1 week prior and 2 days into the period. It would be extremely painful for the first and second days. She took Ponstan for the pain. She would be emotional and teary 1 week before. She wouldn’t be able to lie on her chest because of breast sensitivity.
She had had 10 chiropractic session elsewhere but found they were not working or didn’t last long. She was also concerned about twisting/cracking of her neck as previous experiences for her and other members of her family were not good.
In the months prior to attending the clinic (October to February) she was also having physiotherapy but found she was only receiving a few minutes relief.
Analysis of habits indicated an up-regulated sympathetic nervous system, and a down-regulated parasympathetic nervous system – self-induced autonomic dysfunction.
The Initial Consultation was on Thursday, 6 February 2014.
Her first treatment session was on Friday, 7 February 2014 and included specific gentle spinal manipulation and new behavioural recommendations both aimed at restoring normal function.
